August is MedicAlert Awareness Month

MedicAlert Awareness Month is a dedicated time to raise awareness about the importance of medical identification and emergency preparedness. This annual observance highlights the significance of Medic Alert IDs in providing critical information during medical emergencies. Medic Alert IDS carry essential medical information such as allergies, conditions, and emergency contacts, enabling prompt and accurate treatment during emergencies. These IDs are important for people who are either living alone or have pre-existing conditions.

Founded in 1956, the MedicAlert Foundation developed the first universal medical identification system with the idea that sharing critical medical information in an emergency could save lives. Since then, the idea has grown into a multinational non-profit organization, helping save over 4 million lives.
