Respite Awareness Day is an event aimed at raising awareness about the importance of respite care for family caregivers. It will be at the South Carolina Statehouse from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The day will be dedicated to educating legislators and the public about the benefits of respite care and the challenges faced by caregivers. This event invites family caregivers, care receivers, and professionals to discuss the needs of families and share their stories.
The South Carolina Department on Aging offers education on brain health and dementia in concise classes that are easily accessible and understandable. These programs are free, and all are welcome.
