South Carolina Emergency Management and the LGOA are participating in the 2011 Shake Out on April 28th at 10:15am to practice how to protect ourselves during earthquakes, and to get prepared.
What: The Great Central U.S. ShakeOut is an eight-state drill spanning much of the central United States. http://www.shakeout.org/centralus/southcarolina/
Why: While South Carolina is usually not known for earthquakes, 10 to 30 earthquakes are recorded annually and 2 to 5 earthquakes are felt each year.
